Important Notes

  • CE credits are only available to attendees who purchased the Continuing Education add-on during registration.
  • *Pre-Conference sessions and Workshops require separate registration and payment to attend and earn CE credit.

Available Credit Types

Attendees may earn up to 35 CE credits for participation in the following session types and credit types:

  • Plenaries
  • Live Lectures
  • Pre-Conference Sessions*
  • Workshops*
  • Lightning Talks
  • Roundtables
  • On-Demand Sessions

*Pre-Conference and Workshops must be purchased separately.

  • Certified Health Education Specialists (CHES®/MCHES®)
  • California Nurses (CNE)
  • Certified in Public Health (CPH)
  • Librarians (MLA)

NASW (Social Work) Credits

Up to 12.5 NASW CE credits are available for live sessions only, including:

  • Live Lectures
  • Plenaries
  • Pre-Conference Sessions*
  • Workshops*

Not eligible for NASW credit:

  • Roundtables
  • On-Demand sessions

Important Credit Policy

The 35 total CE credits represent the maximum available for the full conference experience, including:

  • Main conference sessions
  • Pre-Conference sessions*
  • Workshops*

*Pre-Conference and Workshops must be purchased separately.

CE credits are calculated based on the length of each individual session you attend:

  • 45-minute session = 0.75 CE credits (NASW is rounded down to .5 CE credits)
  • 60-minute session = 1.0 CE credit

You will earn credits only for the sessions you attend and complete evaluations for.

  • You may claim credit for a session either as Live OR On-Demand — not both
  • Only one CE credit request per session is allowed
  • Duplicate submissions for the same session will not be accepted

Please review your attendance carefully before submitting your CE request.


Nursing Continuing Education (Outside California)

The Institute for Healthcare Advancement (IHA) is not an accredited provider of Nursing Continuing Professional Development (NCPD) contact hours for this activity.

  • We offer California Nursing contact hours only
  • All participants will receive a Certificate of Attendance
  • Nurses outside California may submit this certificate to their state board for consideration

Acceptance varies by state. Please check with your licensing board to confirm eligibility.


How to Receive Your CE Credits

Follow these steps to receive credit:

Step 1: Attend the Session

Join and fully participate in each session you would like to receive credit for.

Step 2: Complete the Session Evaluation

After each session, complete the corresponding evaluation in the attendee hub.

Step 3: Repeat for All Sessions

Complete evaluations for each session you attend.

Step 4: Complete the Overall Event Evaluation

Once all session evaluations are complete:

  • Submit the Overall Event Evaluation
  • You will receive an email with a link to download your certificate(s)

Important Certificate Information

  • Certificates are issued only after all evaluations are completed
  • If you submit the overall evaluation early:
    • Return to complete missing session evaluations
    • Re-download your updated certificate using the original link
  • You may receive up to three (3) certificates, depending on your sessions
  • Your certificate link will automatically update if additional evaluations are completed later

Reporting Instructions by Accreditation Provider

After downloading your certificate:

  • CPH: Self-report credits through the CPH Recertification Portal
  • CHES/MCHES: Reported by IHA quarterly (Jan 15, Apr 15, Jul 15, Oct 15)
  • NASW: Reported by IHA after the conference
  • CA Nurses (CNE): Retain your certificate for licensure records
  • MLA (Librarians): You will receive an enrollment code to claim credit via MEDLIB-ED

Deadlines for CE Credit Submission

  • NASW (Live sessions only):
    Submit evaluations by May 29, 2026
  • All other CE categories (Live + On-Demand):
    Submit evaluations by May 14, 2027

Accreditation Statements

  • CHES/MCHES: Sponsored by the Institute for Healthcare Advancement, a designated provider of CECH in health education by the National Commission for Health Education Credentialing, Inc. (NCHEC). This conference is designated for up to 35.25 total Category I CECH; maximum advanced-level CECH available: 35.25. Continuing Competency credits: 0. Provider ID#: 101864
  • CPH: Approved for up to 35.25 credits accepted by the National Board of Public Health Examiners for CPH recertification
  • California Nurses: IHA is an approved provider by the California Board of Registered Nursing, CEP# 11933, for 35.25 contact hours
  • Social Workers (NASW): This program is Approved by the National Association of Social Workers (Approval # 886777826-7784) for 12.5 continuing education contact hours.

It is the responsibility of each professional licensee to confirm their state board’s CE requirements. Participants are responsible for verifying whether the continuing education offered meets the standards of their licensing or certifying entity.


Overall Learning Objectives

By the end of this conference, participants will be able to:

  1. Identify health literacy strategies that can be incorporated into their professional practice
  2. Evaluate the effectiveness of health literacy approaches within their work setting
  3. Explain how health literacy practices influence patient outcomes and organizational effectiveness
