Health Literacy Month Networking Event: Connect, Share and Engage

Celebrate Health Literacy Month with IHA during an interactive networking event designed to help participants meet others, exchange practical ideas, and identify ways to take action.

Melissa Oliveras, MS, FNP, RN, will begin with a 15-minute spotlight on how gamification can make health literacy education and community activities more engaging. Eskarlethe Juarez, MPH, CHES, will highlight Health Literacy Month resources, activities, and opportunities to participate.

Participants will then spend about 25 minutes in small-group breakout rooms. You’ll have an opportunity to introduce yourself, discuss an activity you’re planning or exploring, and exchange ideas with others interested in advancing health literacy.

This is an interactive event and participation is encouraged. Cameras are optional, and attendees may contribute by speaking or using the chat. No prior experience with gamification is required.

Learning Objectives

By the end of this webinar, participants will be able to:

• Identify a gamification strategy that can make health literacy education or engagement more interactive. 
• Identify one action they can take during Health Literacy Month to raise awareness or engage others in health literacy. 
• Exchange a practical idea, question, or challenge with others and identify a potential next step.
