IHA Announces Special Cancer Issue of Health Literacy Research and Practice Journal
Feb 2026
HLRP seeks submissions addressing pressing issues related to cancer and health literacy, specifically those documenting current challenges in delivering cancer care as well as effective solutions.
This Special Issue Addresses Issues Related to Cancer and Health Literacy
The current era of cancer care – from prevention to survivorship – is marked by the rise of precision medicine initiatives. Genetics, genomics, and risk-tailored treatments have expanded possible treatment pathways but have also increased complexity of information to be processed by patients, clinicians, and health systems.
The need for accessible health information across the cancer care continuum is critical to engaging the public and patients in achieving the promise of reduced cancer morbidity and mortality associated with precision care.
This special issue seeks submissions that document the current challenges in delivering cancer care across the health literacy spectrum, as well as effective solutions to address current challenges. Submissions that demonstrate novel approaches delivered at the level of individuals, population groups, communities, and health care organizations are encouraged.
