Course: Community Engagement

Build the skills to strengthen community partnerships and lead real health literacy change.

Community Engagement is a 5-module, self-paced course that explores ways to integrate health literacy into efforts to build bridges between the healthcare system and communities. It also includes developing partnerships, including community representation on boards, committees, and planning and policy efforts that directly affect community members (“Nothing about us without us”). It also includes promoting health literacy awareness and education into adult education programs, and increasing participation in community-based health initiatives (5 CECHs).

This course is part of IHA’s Health Literacy Specialist Certificate Program, but is available to complete individually to develop specific skill sets. Group discounts available for teams of 5 or more (tiered pricing based on number of participants), please use the team enrollment form for a custom quote.
