Build the skills to teach clearly, design evidence-based health content, and promote health literacy in both individual and group education settings.

Education is a 5-module, self-paced course that addresses practices related to the educational needs of a particular group or individual, including learning preferences, and developing appropriate plans to meet these needs. Learners explore how to meet the needs of community members, individuals with limited literacy/health literacy proficiency, and professional audiences. It also includes numeracy, or the ability to use, understand, and compute numbers, as well as communicating and understanding/ interpreting risk (5 CECHs).
This course is part of IHA’s Health Literacy Specialist Certificate Program, but is available to complete individually to develop specific skill sets.
